I have promised myself that I will be really good with the blog and I just about made the deadline for the post, go me! So today I'm talking about my own wedding plans and what's going on with me, up and coming styled shoots and also a proper look at the Soft Touch Events Styled shoot from earlier this year.

What have I been up to?
This month has been crazy busy and Becky and I are further along the road with our own wedding plans. We have a venue, whoop whoop! I kind of want to save that for another post though. Apart from planning my own wedding, I've been meeting lots of lovely new couples that have booked me to spend time with them on their wedding day. Although I've been shooting weddings for quite some time now it never becomes less special. I explain that to everyone I meet too, it's not about money to me, it's about doing a job I love and being able to deliver beautiful photographs to couples without them feeling like a photographer is there with them. To most brides and grooms I'm their friend with a camera and I couldn't imagine working any other way.
I may have mentioned but I have been awarded a scholarship to study a Masters (Ma) in photography at Falmouth University. It's part time and that means I can carry on working the busy wedding season and work on my modules in the quieter times. It's kind of a big deal to me as I did my Ba Hons at Falmouth and it was so hard to get into, to get a scholarship for my Ma feels fantastic. It involved my documentary project on Punk Rock music and the Punk community. Like my wedding photography, my documentary work is really important to me and I don't really treat one as more important than the other. They're both about telling a story and working with people. I just feel so lucky that I get to do what I do, and of course a little recognition is always nice (blush). You can have a look at some of my other work over on my instagram account.
Why I think it's important to be personal and share what's going on with people...
I like sharing a bit of my life on here because I think it's a fair trade off. I spend time with amazing couples on one of the most intimate day's of their lives and I share that on my website, so showing a little glimpse of my life is only fair. Also I am trying (broken record I know ) to be better at blogging I'm getting into it a bit more now.
I did finally get around to the styled shoot with Do You Believe Bridal in Brecon. Whether it was the rain or another reason it's taken about a year for us to all have the right time free to get up and do it. I've been up there so many times looking around I'm so glad that we managed to shoot. The full blog and pics will be up soon as they're currently still in the edit.
A few of the wedding fayres that I have coming up are outside of Cardiff. I work all over the UK it's something I really try and get across. I love going to wedding fayres as they're a great way to meet other suppliers and hang out, as well as meeting couples planning their wedding. I didn't get a chance before with being so busy in peak season, but here's the styled shoot with Soft Touch Events, and also a video from Ellie herself about the Indie Wedding Fair. By the way the Indie wedding fayre was a great place to be it was just so chilled and laid back. I can't wait for the next one!
